I think the heightened status is a good place to be. You're aware of a possible threat you're ensuring things are in order but it isn't time to panic just yet.

Thank you! I know I'm not going nuts, but there's an alarm screaming in my head to buy more food and supplies. I can not get my grown daughters, who both have significant others to listen! They just don't understand, and though, they both live far away, one even in eastern europe, I have this intense feeling that I must acquire enough for them, too! I have spoken to neighbors, and even got the response, "God will provide." I wanted to scream! If God provided you with the intellect to see a problem barrelling down like a freight train on us, He expects you to prepare to survive! I told this to that neighbor and she shook her head and walked away from me! Ugh! Why can't people see what's coming? I feel like the Hen in the children book, "The Little Red Hen"! Thanks, Bear, knowing that you're are still stocking up supplies is a relief. God bless, you and Stay safe!

One of the least thought of things I stocked up on was canning jars. Aside from what I already can, I want to be able to empty my freezer and can it up should the loss of power ever lead to that possibility of losing it all.
